Full Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our Finance team as a Payroll and Budgeting Analyst. This hybrid role will be split between payroll administration and budgeting/forecasting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in payroll processing and financial planning, and the ability to work cross-functionally to support accurate financial operations and strategic decision-making.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Payroll:<ul><li>Maintain and update payroll records including benefit changes, bonuses, and deductions.</li><li>Coordinate with HR to ensure accuracy of employee data prior to payroll processing.</li><li>Monitor timecard submissions and follow up on missing or inconsistent data.</li><li>Process bi-weekly payrolls for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.</li><li>Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports.</li><li>Track garnishments, wage assignments, and other deductions to ensure proper application.</li><li>Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.</li><li>Prepare payroll and labor-related reconciliations, reports and support monthly close process.</li><li>Stay up-to-date on payroll laws and regulations and recommend process improvements.</li></ul>Budgeting and Forecasting:<ul><li>Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts across departments.</li><li>Analyze financial trends and variances against budget, providing actionable insights to leadership.</li><li>Collaborate with department heads to gather inputs and refine budget assumptions.</li><li>Prepare reports and dashboards for senior management and board presentations, as needed.</li><li>Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects.</li></ul>Schedule: 8:30AM – 5:30PMWeekly Hours: 40QUALIFICATIONS: Education: <ul><li>A Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance is required.</li><li>Advanced degrees in accounting/finance, healthcare administration, or a related field are desirable, but not required.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>1–3 years of experience in payroll and/or financial planning and analysis (FP&A).</li><li>Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines timely and accurately.</li><li>Experience in a multi-state payroll environment is preferred.</li><li>Experience in nonprofit or healthcare sectors is desirable.</li></ul>Physical RequirementsIndividuals must be able to sustain specific physical requirements essential to the job. This includes, but is not limited to:<ul><li>Standing – duration of up to 6 hours a day</li><li>Sitting/Stationary positions – sedentary position for a duration of up to 6-8 hours a day for consecutive hours/periods.</li><li>Lifting/Push/Pull – up to 50 pounds of equipment, baggage, supplies, and other items used in the job scope using OSHA guidelines, etc.</li><li>Bending/Squatting – have to be able to safely bend or squat to perform the essential functions under the scope of the job.</li><li>Stairs/Steps/Walking/Climbing – must be able to maneuver stairs safely, climb up/down and walk to access work areas.</li><li>Agility/Fine Motor Skills - Must demonstrate agility and fine motor skills to operate and activate equipment, devices, instruments, and tools to complete essential job functions (i.e., typing, use of supplies, equipment, etc.)</li><li>Sight/Visual Requirements – must be able to read documentation, papers, orders, signs, etc., and accurately type/write documentation, etc.</li><li>Audio Hearing and Motor Skills (language) Requirements – must be able to listen attentively and document information from patients, community members, co-workers, clients, providers, etc., and intake information through audio processing with accuracy.
