Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders which can include secondary mental health issues. This role requires a strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques, crisis management, and case management to effectively assist clients in their recovery journey. The counselor will work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans and facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions.

This is a hybrid position (work will be done onsite as well as remote).

Duties

Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques.
Manage client records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Insurance, and OASAS 822 regulations.
Offer crisis management support to clients in urgent situations, helping them navigate immediate challenges.
Implement case management strategies to coordinate care and resources for clients, including referrals to additional services as needed.
Facilitate group therapy sessions, encouraging peer support and shared experiences among participants.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of treatment modalities for accurate documentation and reporting purposes.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients within the community.
Collaborate with legal systems and community resources to coordinate care initiatives as necessary, providing support in various environments.

Requirements

Must possess an active LMSW/ LCSW/ or LMHC
Experience in individual group counseling and crisis management is essential.
Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques and case management practices is required.
Knowledge and experience in substance use disorders.
Knowledge of client record keeping and EMR (In-Sync) is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in counseling practices.
