Full Job Description

We are a New York City-based industry leader in affordable Luxury Home textiles in North America and globally. We are looking for a self-motivated, creative Textile designer who can bring their vision to our product line.

The Designer will work closely with the Customer, Design, Product Development, Production and Sales teams. Will also collaborate with Packaging and customer services on capturing of product images as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

Collaborate with customers to develop design concepts and presentations that align with their vision and business objectives.
Lead the preparation and execution of seasonal presentations, ensuring all milestones, deliverables, and calendar deadlines are met.
Conceptualize, create, and manage updates to sketches, CADs, design boards, and line sheets throughout the product development process.
Partner with the Design Director to develop home textile collections and coordinated assortments that support brand direction and market trends.
Work closely with designers to ensure alignment and consistency across design, product development, and execution.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the Merchandising team to manage tech packs and maintain product quality and design integrity.
Partner with vendors, sourcing teams, and global hub teams to introduce innovation into product development while meeting costing and margin requirements.
Review production samples, manage color and design approvals, and collaborate with packaging and photography teams to ensure cohesive brand execution.
Drive innovation through vintage inspiration, trend forecasting, competitive market analysis, fabric development, and digital research.
Maintain and update tech packs, including specifications, technical details, and sample evaluation comments, while tracking all design revisions and feedback from Design and Production teams.
Participate in customer meetings and travel as needed for trend research, market analysis, and business development opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

8+ years design experience in Home Textiles with specific focus on Bedding
Familiarity textiles, construction, fabrications, and treatments
Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe experience a must.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in design

Skills:

Good sense of color is required.
Textile technical knowledge a must.
Excellent time management,Strong communications skills and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Ability to establish good relationships with key parties and department staff.
Flexibility to travel.
