Position Summary

We are looking for a creative, organized, and enthusiastic Assistant Designer to support the Women's Sportswear Design team. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with 1+ year of related apparel design experience who is eager to grow their career in women's fashion.

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid or Onsite)
Department: Design
Reports To: Associate Designer / Design Director
Salary Range: $50,000–$55,000 (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Support the design team in developing seasonal women's sportswear collections.
Conduct trend, market, and competitive research to identify new product opportunities.
Assist in creating inspiration boards, color palettes, and seasonal concepts.
Create and update technical flats, CADs, and presentation boards using Adobe Illustrator.
Prepare design packages and maintain accurate design documentation within PLM.
Assist with sample tracking, organization, and seasonal line reviews.
Support fit sessions by taking notes, updating sketches, and communicating design revisions.
Organize seasonal design boards, fabric libraries, trim libraries, and artwork files.
Assist with presentation preparation for internal meetings and customer reviews.
Communicate with Product Development, Technical Design, Merchandising, and overseas vendors to ensure timely execution.
Maintain seasonal calendars and help ensure deadlines are met.
Perform additional design-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
1+ year of related experience in women's sportswear or apparel design (internships may be considered).
Experience supporting the development of women's apparel collections.
Strong knowledge of garment construction and fabrics.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; Photoshop and InDesign are a plus.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
