Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Patient Coordinator/Scheduler and Assistant Billing Manager to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a blend of interpersonal skills and administrative expertise, ensuring a smooth operation within the office.

Duties for Patient Coordinator/Scheduler

Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures.
Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar effectively.
Handle phone inquiries, including appointment confirmations and patient questions.
Maintain patient records accurately using Open Dental and other relevant software.
Verify dental insurance information to facilitate billing processes.
Maintain a clean, organized reception area.
Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless patient flow and communication.
Provide administrative support as needed to enhance office efficiency.

Duties for Assistant Billing Manager

Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
Handle appeals and resubmissions
Understand dental coding and proper documentation requirements
Collect outstanding balances
Manage aging reports (30/60/90+ days)
Reconcile accounts receivable

Qualifications

Previous experience in a dental office setting is a must.
Proficiency in using phone systems and electronic health record (EHR) software such as Open Dental is advantageous.
Knowledge of dental billing, dental codes, and insurance verification processes is a plus
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
A commitment to providing outstanding patient care and support.
