Full Job Description

Currently, COG has an opening for a full time position willing to travel to our Plainview, Massapequa, & Rockville Centre locations 5 days/wk, X-ray tech.

SUMMARY OF POSITION DUTIES:

This position is responsible for operating X-ray equipment that assists physicians with diagnosing disease and/or injury. Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned that may include checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, dressing, preparing for exam, etc.; collecting patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines; charting; relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls, and providing pertinent information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, NYS DOH licensure. BLS & ARRT preferred.

Experience: No experience required. Willing to work in a high-volume office setting. Proficient in Microsoft word, excel, and outlook. Experience with an electronic Medical Record system preferred. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.

RESPONSIBLITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

1) Competent in Orthopedic X-ray exams. Pain Management C-arm experience preferred but not required.

2) Performs X-ray studies related to Orthopedic care.

3) Properly documenting X-ray studies performed and facilitating the communication between the Provider and Radiologist by using all internal X-ray and care coordination software.

4) Accurately captures the requested diagnostic image by setting the equipment to obtain the best density, detail, and contrast of the area being imaged.

5) Assists patients by copying or transferring x-ray images for use by their PCP or specialty physician.

6) Keeping an accurate record of QC logbooks including pregnancy consent form, daily check off list, patient logbook, repeat/rejects so as to be fully compliant with the Department of Health.

7) Consistently submit images of diagnostic quality without recommendation of additional image acquisition; performs quality assurance on images and equipment; demonstrates competency in utilizing systems

8) Troubleshooting equipment and software malfunctions and informing Site Manager when service needs to be conducted.

9) Assisting with patient flow and utilizing the flag system to maintain good communication between all clinical staff members.

10) Demonstrate a positive patient experience; share information with patients, providing knowledge about the procedure; ensuring they are aware of follow-up steps and requirements.

11) Puts patients at ease by explaining the procedure and responding to their questions/requests in a professional manner.

12) Documentation in the EMR.

13) Maintains supplies and cleanliness of space, restocks supplies as needed. Notifies supervisor of any shortage of any supplies.

14) Enhancing the culture of healthcare by providing exceptional patient care, safety, and best practice.

15) Maintains cooperative and professional relationships with patients, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team.

16) Communicates required information to all necessary team members.

17) Follows established patient safety standards.

18) Strong commitment to punctuality as the employee must be ready to report to work on time and on a consistent basis.
