Full Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A vacancy is available for a Sign Language Interpreter to provide onsite support within a high school setting in Albany, NY. This contract role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with block scheduling and 1:1 interpreting assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver in-person sign language interpreting services for students and staff.
Facilitate effective communication in classroom and one-on-one environments.
Support telehealth sessions as needed to ensure accessibility.
Adhere to confidentiality and professional standards in educational settings.
Collaborate with educators and service providers to meet student needs.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting skills.
Experience working in school environments, preferably at the high school level.
Familiarity with telehealth interpretation protocols.
Ability to work independently and manage block scheduling demands.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Location: Albany, NY
