Full Job Description

Meat and Seafood Supervisor:

We are seeking a Meat and Seafood Supervisor to join our team! You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the retail sales team.

Responsibilities:

Supervise team of retail sales workers
Supervise and delegate department merchandising and buying tasks to meat managers
Work with meat managers to train and evaluate team members
Make sure that all the temperature, sanitation and waste logs are put in place and monitored
Communicate and maintain all departments’ safety and security standards
Set high standards for the department and track monthly results and trends for business forecasting
Negotiate with vendors and establish all retail prices for the department
Negotiate sales prices and work on a weekly flyer with the rest of the merchandising team
Oversee the work of fish processing staff to ensure adherence to safety and sanitation regulations
Inspect fish and seafood to ensure quality standards and remove those that do not meet specifications
Plan and coordinate the stages of fish processing such as cutting, cleaning, freezing and packaging
Monitor the processing line for equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs or maintenance
Train new employees in the proper handling of fish, equipment usage, and safety protocols
Manage inventories of supplies and order new stock as required
Ensure the accurate recording of processing data, such as quantity of fish processed, waste generated, or hours worked by employees
Communicate with regulatory agencies and ensure that the processing facility adheres to government regulations

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in meat and sea food supervision, or other related fields
Knowledge of meat department procedures and policies
Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety procedures
Proficient in mathematics to assess financial performance, monitor profit and manage inventory
Ability to prioritize, delegate and lead
Proficient with Microsoft office and operating related applications
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Ability to handle knives and cutting equipment, and work in a cold environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
