George Fox University's Health and Counseling department is looking for a passionate, detail oriented individual to join their team as a Lead Staff Counselor.
About the Job:
To provide mental health services to GFU students and to assist the Director in higher-level clinical/supervisory activities including crisis evaluations, LD assessment report review, onboarding/training staff counselors, and intake screenings. This position performs all the Staff Counselor duties as well as the advanced services listed above. The position's supervised professional psychological activities meet the experience requirements for doctoral clinical training.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Conducting individual and couples psychotherapy, particularly to some of the highest risk or most complicated clinical presentations.

Performing psychological assessments.

Administrative duties including completing all paperwork, including notes and reports, in a timely fashion.

Crisis evaluations, intervention and emergency services.

LD assessment report review.
-
Onboarding/training staff counselors.

Intake screenings.

Supervision and Meetings. The Lead Staff Counselor is provided with any necessary clinical supervision based on their educational/license requirements. In addition, they are expected to attend staff meetings as applicable.

Consultation and Outreach to University Community.
- Staff counselors may participate in the planning and delivery of psycho-educational workshops for students, faculty, staff, and parents.

Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.

By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.

Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.

We're looking for candidates who have:

Currently enrolled (and in good standing) in an advanced degree in psychology.

State license as an LPC or LCSW or has completed the entire program-based clinical training requirements of a PsyD Psychology program.

The energy to flexibly manage the professional demands of a challenging caseload while maintaining positive and healthy perspectives and relationships.

A self-motivated, self-directed commitment to high professional ideals.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

A collaborative spirit of warmth, acceptance, respect, and trust towards colleagues and students
