Full Job Description

We are looking for an additional legal assistant who can help the busy attorney and staff at our law office to serve and assist clients. You’ll be responsible for managing office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and ensuring our legal team is aware of upcoming deadlines. You’ll also assist with preparing legal documents and contracts, and perform any other tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently. Compensation:

$18 - $25 hourly

Responsibilities:

Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the firm run smoothly
Perform legal research, as needed, with help from attorneys and paralegals
Process client billing properly using daily time records with help from the accounting department
Make travel arrangements, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events
Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and letting the team know about upcoming deadlines
Work with attorneys and paralegals to create various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when requested

Assist our marketing manager with social media content by being willing to participate in photos, videos, and other items of content when requested

Qualifications:

1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant
Ability to comfortably use all Microsoft Office products
Experience with legal software, litigation case management, and docketing programs
Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required
Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills
