Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Machine Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of industrial machinery and equipment within our manufacturing facility. Your expertise will ensure optimal machine performance, safety, and efficiency, supporting our commitment to high-quality production standards. We are seeking an experienced Machine Mechanic with (preferably) hands-on expertise in Rosso or Complett toe closure sewing machines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing high-speed toe closing equipment used in sock manufacturing to ensure optimal performance and minimal production downtime.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on toe‑closure sewing machines (e.g., Rosso and Complett).
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to minimize production downtime.
- Conduct machine setup, calibration, and alignment according to production requirements.
- Replace, adjust, and test components such as needles, knives, loopers, tension assemblies, motors, belts, sensors, and pneumatic elements.
- Ensure proper lubrication schedules and cleaning procedures are followed.
- Monitor machine performance and implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with operators to address quality concerns related to seam integrity, stitch density, alignment, and toe-closure finish.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and spare parts inventory.
- Train machine operators on basic troubleshooting and safe operation practices.
- Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Proven experience as a mechanic or technician in a manufacturing or textile environment.
- Preferred strong knowledge of industrial sewing machines, especially toe‑closure equipment.
- Ability to read mechanical diagrams, manuals, and technical schematics.
- Familiarity with pneumatic systems, stepper motors, sensors, and electronic controls.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work under time-sensitive production conditions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with machine operators and supervisors.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Preferred experience in hosiery, sock manufacturing, footwear, or textile production facilities.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit at least 75% of the time, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to balance, stoop, and bend. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will operate in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment along with production floor equipment. Subject to inside environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
The noise level in the work environment may occasionally be loud.
