Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Alterations Tailor to join our dynamic fashion retail team. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for customizing and perfecting garments to ensure each customer leaves feeling confident and satisfied. Your craftsmanship and keen eye for fit will help elevate our customers’ experience, making their wardrobe truly theirs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine technical sewing skills with exceptional customer service in a lively retail environment.

Responsibilities

Measure customers accurately to determine alteration needs, ensuring a perfect fit every time
Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to modify garments according to specifications
Perform garment construction adjustments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing
Communicate clearly with customers about alteration options, timelines, and pricing to ensure satisfaction
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are in excellent condition
Collaborate with team members to manage multiple alteration requests efficiently during busy periods
Keep detailed records of each alteration job for quality control and customer reference

Qualifications

Proven experience in sewing, garment construction, or alterations within a fashion retail setting or similar environment
Proficiency with sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques required
Strong understanding of clothing fit, fabric types, and garment construction principles
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and pricing estimates
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship
Knowledge of fashion retail operations is a plus but not mandatory
