Job Description

Sawyer Home & Garden Center is now seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and knowledgeable produce clerk to join our team! If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love working outdoors, and enjoy providing excellent customer service - a seasonal position at SGC may be a great fit for you.

Key Responsibilities

Cheerfully greeting & assisting customers as they enter our establishment.
Grade, sort & classify produce according to specific factors such as color, appearance, feel, smell & general quality.
Unload deliveries, check produce.
Moving products to new locations around the store as needed.
Pricing product/ensuring proper signage.
Answering customer questions.
Stocking. facing.
Bagging, boxing, wrapping merchandise & offer carry-out assistance.

Requirements

Must have the ability to work in a physically demanding environment - completing tasks that can be strenuous in nature - standing, bending, regularly lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing/pulling on a cart, traversing uneven surfaces, extensive walking & working outdoors.
Commitment to excellent customer service, showing up each day with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Available Full or Part-time, on weekends and holidays. Seasonal position, our hours of operation are 9AM-7PM daily.

Skills

Strong ability to multitask in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Maintain a sense of urgency while staying comfortable in a fast-paced setting involving many people while keeping up a team oriented personal attitude.
Adaptable to changing tasks, willing to learn about new products & care techniques.
High attention to detail.
Strong time-management skills.
Works well independently & with a team.
