Full Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Pattern Maker to support the creation and production of custom upholstery components. This position involves developing and maintaining accurate patterns used for seating and furniture upholstery, ensuring they are production-ready and optimized for quality, consistency, and efficient material use. The role works closely with sewing and assembly teams to translate design specifications into clear, functional templates.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, adjust, and maintain upholstery patterns for new and existing product designs.
Work collaboratively with sewing, cutting, and assembly staff to ensure patterns are practical and manufacturable.
Modify patterns to support design updates, product improvements, or workflow efficiency.
Clearly label, organize, and document patterns for easy, consistent use in production.
Test patterns through sample builds and make necessary adjustments to improve fit, appearance, and durability.
Maintain both physical and digital pattern records and ensure they remain current.
Assist production team members in resolving pattern-related questions or challenges.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience in upholstery, pattern making, or related work (marine or automotive upholstery experience preferred).
Strong understanding of upholstery construction methods and material behavior.
Ability to draft patterns manually; experience with CAD-based pattern software is a plus.
Comfortable using common upholstery tools (e.g., pneumatic staplers, scissors, knives, measuring tools).
High attention to detail with strong measurement, cutting, and layout precision.
Able to work independently and also collaborate effectively with production teams.
Problem-solving ability to troubleshoot pattern fit and alignment issues.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move materials as part of daily work.
Manual dexterity for safe and accurate work with hand tools.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
