Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Kennel Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional care for our furry residents! In this important role, you'll ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of animals in our facility. Your attention to detail will help create a clean, safe, and nurturing environment where dogs feel loved and cared for every day. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals while developing valuable skills in animal handling, grooming, and customer service.

Duties

Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercise, and administering medication as needed
Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough sanitization and grooming
Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their safety and comfort
Assist with activities, exercise and promote healthy physical activity
Monitor animal behavior to identify signs of stress or illness and communicate observations to staff
Support pet grooming services such as bathing and brushing.
Ensure highest facility sanitation standards are met by cleaning equipment, bedding, and common areas regularly

Requirements

Prior kennel/training experience or background as a technician or assistant is highly desirable
Experience in dog training, or kennel work demonstrating animal handling skills
Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when moving animals or supplies safely
Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques
Excellent customer service skills.
Outdoor work experience a must for handling dogs during outdoor activities or walks
Knowledge of pet grooming, sanitation practices, and animal care standards is a plus
