Full Job Description

Accounts Payable Clerk – McGee Toyota, Epping, NH.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Toyota dealership accounting team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for accurately processing vendor invoices, maintaining accounts payable records, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring payments are made accurately and on time.

The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with numbers, proficient with computers and Microsoft Excel, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced automotive dealership environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Receive, review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the dealership accounting system.
Verify invoices for accuracy, proper authorization, and appropriate general ledger coding.
Match invoices with purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation when applicable.
Process vendor payments by check, ACH, or other approved methods.
Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies.
Maintain accurate vendor records and accounts payable files.
Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payment status, credits, and account discrepancies.
Process vehicle-related and dealership operating invoices accurately and promptly.
Assist with daily bank deposits and other accounting office functions as needed.
Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure payments are made according to established terms.
Maintain organized documentation for audits and month-end closing.
Assist the Controller or Office Manager with month-end accounts payable procedures and reports.
Protect confidential financial and dealership information.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting experience preferred.
Automotive dealership accounting experience is a plus.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience with dealership accounting software preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Excellent communication and customer/vendor service skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Professional attitude and strong work ethic.
