Overview:

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation

A joint venture partnership between Select Medical & Baylor Scott & White

**This role requires weekday travel to hospitals in Central and North Austin, extending up to the Round Rock area. Applicants should be willing to commute to that area daily.

Clinical Liaison (RN, OT, PT, or SLP)

$74,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on years of relevant work experience
Uncapped Monthly Bonus Incentives in addition to base salary

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM plus rotating weekend coverage (weekend stipend applies)

A day in the life

You’ll advocate for referred patients in the pre-admission process by collaborating with clinical teams to assess patient needs. You will serve as a resource for healthcare professionals through fostering relationships within medical facilities. With clinical expertise and problem-solving skills, you’ll also coordinate care plans with physicians and families. Additionally, you will facilitate patient transfers and address barriers to accessing specialized post-acute care.

Responsibilities:

Position Summary

In this highly visible, challenging, and rewarding position, you will assume a leadership role, developing and nurturing professional relationships with case managers, physicians, and clinicians in acute care hospitals; educating staff, patients, and families regarding rehabilitation services provided by our rehabilitation hospital. In addition, you will assess patients with rehab diagnoses, on-site at referring hospitals, for admission to the rehab hospital and manage the referral process.

Specific Duties

Creates target lists of contacts and decision makers in assigned hospitals. Develops relationships, provides excellent customer service, and educates referral sources on services provided by the hospital.
Demonstrates positive referrer satisfaction and account retention.
Educates potential patients and families on acute rehabilitation and the benefits of program(s). Distributes collateral materials appropriately.
Supports Sales and Marketing through educational programs, tours, meetings, etc. in assigned hospitals.
Develops strategies to grow market share in core business lines in assigned hospitals. Creates quarterly goals and objectives and submits to the supervisor.
Works with VP/Director Business Development to identify opportunities for expansion of strategic business initiatives.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist required.
Ability to drive to referring hospitals in Central and North Austin, extending up to the Round Rock area.

Preferred Experience

Two years of related experience working in an acute rehab setting, or previous experience working as a clinical liaison
Experience in sales and business development in an inpatient care setting: acute rehab preferred
Strong computer proficiency
Consistently practices discretion and respects the importance of confidentiality in healthcare.
