Full Job Description

We are seeking someone special to fill a hybrid role of Family Assistant / Household Helper/Nanny. This role will begin with part-time hours with preference given to candidates who can quickly grow into more hours as we all get situated to one another.

Starting this Fall, we will be looking for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday availability, preferably from 12-7.

This role is basically an extension of Mom and supports daily home operations including whatever is needed to support the family and help the day run smoothly. This role includes household support, errands, organizing, scheduling/logistical support, and childcare with 2 small children (early elementary and toddler).

This role works closely with Mom and our weekday family assistant/cook to help maintain a calm, organized, values-centered household.

Candidates must have some regular daytime weekend availability!

This role is ideal for someone warm, grounded, intuitive, organized, and flexible. Someone who enjoys supporting families, and helping a home run smoothly.

Ability to travel with our family for short trips is a big plus!

Ability to transition into more hours in the Fall is a big plus!

ABOUT OUR FAMILY

A brief, straightforward way to describe our family would be "crunchy conservative." Our home is peaceful, screen-light, and centered around family life and gentle daily rhythms. We prioritize time in nature, organic food, and non-toxic living. We value mindfulness and presence, open communication, and working through conflict calmly and compassionately. We are a more traditional family who appreciates Christian values. We lean conservative, raise our children with a biological understanding of boys and girls, and do not introduce gender identity topics. Because this role works closely with our children and daily family life, we are seeking someone who is aligned with our family’s values, not just respectful of them, in order to be a cohesive, seamless fit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Household Assistance

Be a flexible “right hand” to Mom throughout the day
Tidy and reset common areas
Light housekeeping support (not deep cleaning) including things like washing dishes, wiping surfaces, vacuuming/sweeping, etc.
Assist with general organizing, decluttering, and maintaining systems
Help keep items in their proper places
Support household flow and simple daily rhythms
Assist current family assistant/cook with food prep as requested
Laundry as needed including running loads, drying, folding, and restocking.

Household Management

Manage and update the family calendar (appointments, kids’ activities, home services)
Make phone calls, schedule vendors/repair services, and be present if needed
Track household needs/supplies and place orders
Process returns (print labels, package items, UPS drop-offs)
Run errands (library returns, co-op pickups, bakery/specialty items)

Childcare

Provide periods of childcare during Mom’s appointments, work time, and other times she needs to refresh.
Assist with school pickup or transporting children to activities
Supervise/play with the toddler
Accompany on family outings (walks, park, errands) to provide an extra set of helping hands.
Reinforce household values and routines
If it's a good fit, candidate might be asked to assist some with homeschool curriculum lessons with older child.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have prior experience working with young children, especially toddlers.
Must have prior experience in a support position such as administrative assistant, personal assistant, household helper, etc.
Clean driving record + reliable vehicle
Clean background report
Comfortable with household tasks and errands
Clear communicator
Can receive feedback with grace and ease
Strong follow-through
Interested in long-term stability
Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs
