Full Job Description

JOB TITLE: CERTIFIED HAND THERAPIST

ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT-DEPARTMENT: PHYSICAL THERAPY

ACCOUNTABILITY: REPORTS DIRECTLY TO CLINIC MANAGER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides high quality, direct patient care

2. Works closely with board certified hand surgeons and our larger rehab team to provide a true team approach to patient care.

3. Ensures accurate and complete documentation of medical records in accordance with company standards

4. Supervise OTAs relative to patient care requirements

5. Assists clinic manager and clinical director in utilization review

6. Participates in protocol development/updating

7. Assists in ongoing review to ensure facility cleanliness and equipment safety

8. Provides appropriate supervision of student interns and job shadowing opportunities

9. Is willing/able to provide quality patient care coverage at other offices as needed or as requested by Clinical Director.

SKILL AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of an accredited Physical or Occupational Therapy program, licensed to practice Physical or Occupational Therapy in the state of North Carolina and is in good standing with NC PT or OT Board. Experience working closely with a hand surgeon is highly recommended as is proficiency with elbow and shoulder diagnoses. Candidates must also have a strong background in custom splint fabrication. Current NC license is required as is the ability to work independently with patient care duties.

INTERNAL:

Works directly with the clinic manager and all other personnel in the Physical Therapy department on a day-to-day basis. Also positively and effectively interacts with COSMS staff including physicians, support staff, front office staff and executive management.

EXTERNAL:

Represents COSMS professionally in all respects with outside referral sources and institutions. Assists in outside marketing opportunities as requested by clinic manager or clinical director to include event coverage, health fairs, etc.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
