Position Overview

Lightworx Fiber is seeking a Talent Acquisition & People Coordinator to support recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, HR administration, and People Operations coordination across the organization.

This role directly supports the Head of People and will play a key role in helping create a smooth and professional candidate and employee experience. The position is heavily involved in field technician recruiting and operational hiring support while also assisting with onboarding coordination, HR administration, employee engagement initiatives, internal branding efforts, and day-to-day People Operations support.

The ideal candidate has exposure or held an entry administrative HR role coupled with strong experience in recruiting field-based employees in industries such as telecommunications, fiber, construction, utilities, cable, HVAC, staffing, or other skilled trades environments. We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, adaptable, detail-oriented, creative, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities may shift quickly.

This role requires professionalism, discretion, strong judgment, and the ability to appropriately escalate employee, candidate, compliance, or operational concerns when needed. The right person understands how to balance ownership and initiative with knowing when something needs additional visibility or guidance.

Key ResponsibilitiesRecruiting & Talent Coordination

Recruit and coordinate hiring efforts for field technicians, fiber installers, construction labor, operational support, and related positions
Post approved openings on Indeed, BambooHR, and other recruiting platforms
Review resumes, conduct initial screenings, and coordinate interview scheduling
Maintain candidate communication throughout the hiring process
Support candidate pipeline management and recruiting workflow organization
Track recruiting metrics, hiring activity, recruiting-related expenses, and administrative documentation
Coordinate background checks through Checks and related vendors
Assist with offer preparation and onboarding coordination
Help improve recruiting processes, communication, and interview show rates
Escalate hiring concerns, compensation questions, candidate issues, or sensitive situations appropriately to the Head of People

Onboarding, HR Administration & Compliance

Coordinate onboarding logistics and new hire setup
Complete and maintain I-9 documentation and employment verification records
Process verification of employment requests accurately and professionally
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS updates in BambooHR and related systems
Support onboarding follow-up, employee documentation, and offboarding coordination
Assist with workers’ compensation administration and First Report of Injury (FROI) documentation
Maintain confidentiality and organized employee records and compliance documentation
Recognize when employee concerns, compliance matters, or operational issues should be escalated for guidance or resolution

Employee Engagement, Branding & Culture Support

Coordinate employee engagement initiatives including birthdays, anniversaries, onboarding experiences, recognition moments, and employee appreciation efforts
Organize internal events such as First Friday breakfasts, lunches, celebrations, and team gatherings
Assist with ordering and coordinating apparel, welcome kits, gifts, and recognition items
Support internal branding and employee experience initiatives across the People function
Assist with employee communications, recruiting materials, culture initiatives, and administrative coordination related to engagement efforts
Help contribute to a positive and team-oriented employee experience across both field and office employees

Administrative & Operational Support

Maintain organized recruiting and People Operations workflows
Support reporting, administrative tracking, and People-related coordination activities
Assist with special projects and evolving business initiatives as needed
Adapt quickly to changing priorities, evolving processes, and a growing business environment
Take ownership of additional responsibilities and projects as business needs evolve

Qualifications

2+ years of recruiting, HR coordination, staffing, or People Operations experience
Experience recruiting field technicians, construction, telecom, utilities, cable, fiber, or skilled trades employees strongly preferred
Experience with onboarding administration, I-9s, background checks, employment verifications, HRIS updates, and employee records management
Familiarity with workers’ compensation processes and First Report of Injury (FROI) documentation preferred
Experience with BambooHR, Indeed, or similar HR/recruiting systems preferred
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving, and sometimes ambiguous environment
Strong communication skills, professionalism, discretion, and follow-through
Ability to appropriately escalate sensitive or high-impact matters when needed
Creative mindset and interest in employee engagement, branding, and culture initiatives preferred
Reliable transportation required

Schedule & Work Environment

Hybrid position based in Charlotte, NC
Monday–Friday schedule
Occasional after-hours support for events or hiring initiatives may be needed
Ability to work onsite as business needs require
