Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable/Accounts

Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team. This position will be responsible for

managing daily AP and AR activities, maintaining accurate financial records, processing

transactions, and providing excellent communication with vendors, customers, and

internal teams.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable working with deadlines, and

has strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

● Process vendor invoices accurately and timely

● Match invoices to purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation

● Verify invoice coding and obtain appropriate approvals

● Prepare and process ACH, check, and other vendor payments

● Maintain accurate vendor records and resolve discrepancies

● Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payments

● Assist with AP reconciliations and month-end close

● Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure timely payment

Accounts Receivable

● Prepare and issue customer invoices

● Post customer payments and maintain accurate account balances

● Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on past-due accounts

● Communicate with customers regarding account balances, payments, and billing

questions

● Research and resolve billing discrepancies

● Assist with account reconciliations and month-end close

General Accounting

● Maintain organized and accurate accounting records

● Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities

● Reconcile accounts and research discrepancies

● Provide documentation and support for audits

● Assist the Accounting Manager with special projects and process improvements

● Follow company accounting policies and internal controls

Qualifications

● 2+ years of accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting

experience preferred

● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

● Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

● Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

● Ability to work independently while also being a team player

● High level of accuracy and confidentiality

Preferred Experience

● Experience with both AP and AR

● Experience with purchase orders and receiving documentation

● Experience with QuickBooks Online

● Experience with account reconciliations

● Experience assisting with month-end close

● Construction, contracting, home services experience is a plus

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
