Full Job Description

Job Summary
The Hotel Chief Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all hotel facilities and equipment. This position requires a strong leader with extensive knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as experience in facilities management. Must have a strong understanding of technology and able to learn new systems with ease. The Chief Engineer will oversee maintenance staff, manage projects, and ensure compliance with safety standards while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead the engineering team to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Manage the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other hotel facilities.
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, schedules, and inventory.
Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify areas needing repair or improvement.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime of equipment.
Oversee high voltage and low voltage electrical work while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities without disrupting hotel operations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including schematics and project management documentation.
Provide training and guidance to staff on proper maintenance procedures and safety protocols.

Requirements

Proven experience in facilities management or industrial maintenance within a hospitality environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in HVAC systems, programmable logic controllers, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervising experience in a similar role.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Proficient in English; strong communication skills are essential for collaboration across departments.
Familiarity with Ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools used for electrical testing is preferred.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality within the hotel environment.
