Full Job Description

Director of Client Services

The Director of Client Services provides leadership and oversight for all client service and care management operations across the agency. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional client experiences, high-quality care delivery, operational consistency, regulatory compliance, and strong interdisciplinary team collaboration.

This position supervises scheduling operations, field supervisors, and after-hours operational support while serving as a key member of the leadership team. The Director of Client Services helps drive the agency’s commitment to person-centered care, client safety, caregiver support, and operational excellence.

Success in this role requires the ability to balance compassion with operational discipline while maintaining calm, effective leadership in a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment. The ideal candidate is collaborative and supportive, yet capable of working independently, prioritizing effectively, troubleshooting complex situations, and making sound decisions under pressure.

Director of Care (Home Care) Key Responsibilities:

Client Services & Care Management

Oversee all client service and care management operations for the agency
Ensure high-quality care delivery, strong client satisfaction, and continuity of care across all cases
Oversee client onboarding, assessments, care planning, and ongoing service oversight
Supervise field supervisors and ensure consistency in assessments, care oversight, documentation, and service standards
Monitor and respond to changes in condition, falls, hospitalizations, safety concerns, and other client-related issues
Develop and implement programs and initiatives designed to improve service quality, client outcomes, person-centered care, and client safety
Help lead agency efforts focused on reducing falls, reducing hospitalizations, improving communication, and strengthening continuity of care

Leadership & Operational Oversight

Supervise and support scheduling team members, field supervisors, and after-hours/on-call management personnel
Provide coaching, accountability, guidance, and operational support to team members
Troubleshoot complex scheduling, staffing, and client service issues
Help ensure operational consistency, responsiveness, and communication across all office locations
Participate as a member of the leadership team in organizational planning, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives utilizing the EOS framework
Assist in strategic planning, operational growth initiatives, and process improvement efforts

Client Relations & Service Recovery

Serve as a senior point of contact for client concerns, complaints, grievances, and escalated service matters
Resolve issues promptly, professionally, and compassionately
Maintain strong relationships with clients, families, caregivers, and referral sources
Ensure grievances, incidents, and resolutions are documented appropriately and in compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements

Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with all applicable state regulations, company policies, accreditation standards, and documentation requirements
Assist with policy and procedure review, updates, and operational audits
Monitor service quality indicators, operational metrics, and documentation standards
Support quality improvement initiatives and operational best practices throughout the organization
Help ensure readiness for audits, surveys, and regulatory reviews

Multi-Location & After-Hours Support

Maintain regular in-person presence at multiple office locations, including Lincolnshire, Hinsdale, and Orland Park, to support staff, strengthen communication, and ensure operational consistency
Assist with urgent operational situations, emergencies, and after-hours escalation management as needed

Requirements & Qualifications of Director of Client Services:

Leadership experience in home care, healthcare, care management, social services, or a related field preferred
LPN, RN, social worker, care manager, or similar clinical/care coordination background preferred but not required
Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information and shifting priorities
Calm, professional, and solution-oriented under pressure
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
Ability to work collaboratively while also operating independently
Knowledge of home care regulations, compliance standards, and operational best practices preferred
Proficiency with scheduling systems, EMRs, Microsoft Office, and operational software platforms preferred
