Line Cook / Prep Cook – ZURU Ramen (Black Penguin Hospitality Group)

Overview

Black Penguin Hospitality Group is a dynamic and growing restaurant group based in South Florida, known for its vibrant, guest-driven concepts and a culture of creativity and excellence. One of our flagship brands, ZURU Ramen, is a fun, energetic neighborhood ramen bar bringing flavorful Japanese-inspired dishes to the local community.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join the ZURU Ramen culinary team. The ideal candidate has a passion for food, respect for ingredients, and a desire to grow within a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential to ensuring quality, consistency, and a memorable guest experience.

Compensation for this role includes participation in a tip pool.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to ZURU Ramen’s recipes and quality standards.
Assist with daily prep, including chopping, slicing, and handling ingredients with proper knife skills.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following food safety and sanitation regulations.
Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service, especially during peak hours.
Monitor inventory and support kitchen leadership with supply management.
Help accommodate dietary preferences or special requests when needed.
Assist in onboarding and training new kitchen team members.

Requirements

Prior kitchen experience preferred, especially in casual or fast-casual dining environments.
Strong understanding of food safety and handling procedures.
Proficient knife skills and knowledge of fundamental cooking techniques.
Ability to perform efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Passion for the culinary arts and a desire to grow in the food service industry.
