Full Job Description

Position Summary

Central Pro Services (CPS) is seeking a motivated, professional, and highly driven New Business Development Representative to help expand our customer base and generate new sales opportunities.

This is a field-based sales role focused on prospecting, in-person cold calling, opening new accounts, introducing CPS services to new customers, and generating sales from those new prospects. This person will spend the majority of their time on the road visiting apartment communities, property management companies, commercial properties, student housing properties, and other potential customers.

The purpose of this role is to create new business where CPS does not currently have an active relationship. The New Business Development Representative will be responsible for identifying new prospects, making introductions, building relationships, quoting opportunities, following up, and helping convert new accounts into paying customers.

The accounts opened by this person will initially become CPS house accounts. Over time, as enough new business is developed in a specific market, area, or customer segment, those accounts may be used to establish a new sales territory and eventually be assigned or transitioned to a Sales Representative.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable being out in the field every day, walking into new properties, starting conversations, following up consistently, and turning new relationships into real sales.

Key Responsibilities

Prospect for new customers and new business opportunities within assigned markets and territories.
Conduct in-person cold calls at apartment communities, property management offices, commercial properties, hotels, student housing properties, and other target accounts.
Introduce CPS and its core service offerings to new prospects. Identify key decision-makers, including property managers, regional managers, maintenance supervisors, asset managers, purchasing contacts, and ownership representatives.
Build relationships with new prospects and establish CPS as a potential vendor or service provider.
Collect accurate prospect information, including contact names, emails, phone numbers, property details, management company information, current vendor information, and service needs.
Open new accounts and help convert those accounts into active CPS customers.
Identify service opportunities, request pricing information when needed, coordinate estimates, and follow up on proposals.
Work with the Sales Manager to quote and close new work. Follow up consistently with new prospects and new accounts to generate sales.
Keep track of all prospecting activity, customer information, notes, proposals, follow-ups, and account status.
Maintain regular communication with the Sales Manager regarding target accounts, opportunities, pricing needs, account status, and sales activity.
Provide weekly updates on field activity, new contacts created, accounts opened, proposals submitted, and sales generated.
Represent CPS professionally in all customer-facing interactions.
Learn and clearly communicate CPS services, value proposition, differentiators, and project capabilities.
Maintain company vehicle, gas card, marketing materials, and any other assigned company property responsibly.
Follow all company policies related to driving, safety, customer communication, pricing, documentation, and professional conduct.

Primary Focus Areas

This position is heavily focused on:

Creating sales from accounts CPS is not currently working with
Developing future territory opportunities This position is not intended to take over existing customer relationships from current Sales Representatives.

The focus is on creating new business, not managing the current sales team’s existing book of business.

Account Structure

Accounts opened by the New Business Development Representative will initially be considered CPS house accounts. The purpose of this structure is to allow CPS to develop new business in a clean and organized way without disrupting existing sales territories or customer relationships. As new accounts grow and enough volume is created in a specific market, region, or customer segment, CPS may eventually establish a new sales territory. At that time, accounts may be assigned, transferred, or managed under a territory structure as determined by company leadership.

Qualifications

Prior sales, customer service, business development, property management, construction, or contractor related experience preferred.
Comfortable making in-person cold calls and walking into new properties without a prior appointment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build relationships and follow up consistently.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in the field.
Organized and able to manage prospecting activity, follow-ups, and sales opportunities.
Comfortable using email, phone, and basic reporting tools.
Ability to learn and explain CPS services clearly and confidently. Strong work ethic and willingness to spend most of the day on the road.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Ability to travel daily throughout assigned territory.
