Immediate opening for a CPA Manager

Accounting & Business Consulting LLC is an Illinois-based accounting firm that's earned a fine reputation as a financial leader in the local community. We strive to provide our clients with timely and accurate services, focusing on areas of Accounting & Bookkeeping, Tax Preparation & Planning, Payroll, and Small Business Consulting.

The ideal candidate would have a solid understanding of the federal and state tax codes and regulations, ability of research and analysis. Primary duties would include preparing complex business and personal tax returns, audits, reviews and compiling financial statements as well as representing the firm's interests in front of clients and agencies. Prior public accounting firm experience is a must.

Job Description

Be responsible for preparing individual, trust, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, and foreign tax returns.
Work closely with a team of staff accountants and tax managers to ensure accurate and timely tax filing. Help delegate and manage firm workflow to assure accurate, complete, and timely preparation of client tax returns and accounting work.
Act as a vital resource for your team, assisting with specific tax-related client questions, meeting periodic performance goals, preparing tax plans, and responding to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.
Assist with the preparation, review and audit of financial statements and footnotes in accordance with GAAP.
Assist in managing and mentoring staff to promote efficiency, stellar work product and advance continual growth in their skills and knowledge base. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations and maintaining a general knowledge of trends that could affect the business climate of our clients.

Experience

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Tax or Accounting is required.
A current and valid CPA License is required.
5 – 8 years experience in the public accounting and tax industry.
Individual/corporate/partnership tax knowledge.
Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
Proficiency preferred but not required in Drake, Ultra Tax and Quickbooks.

Motivated to establish strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
Ability to work independently, set clear goals, and meet aggressive deadlines.
Quick learner who has a strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy
