JOB TITLE

Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist

Location: Highland Park, IL
Department: Interventional Radiology
Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $70
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours Per Week)
Shift: 8-Hour Days (5 Days) or 10-Hour Days (4 Days) – Final Schedule to Be Confirmed
Weekend Rotation: Rotating On-Call Coverage

About the Role

MedOp Solutions is partnering with a leading healthcare organization in Highland Park, Illinois to hire an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a fast-paced procedural environment supporting minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside an experienced team of interventional radiologists, nurses, and technologists.

The ideal candidate will have recent Interventional Radiology experience, strong technical expertise, and the ability to remain calm and efficient during complex procedures while delivering exceptional patient care.

Unit Information

Specialty: Interventional Radiology
Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Experience Required: 3–5+ years of recent Interventional Radiology experience
High-volume procedural environment

Patient Types & Procedures

Adult and geriatric patients
Diagnostic angiography
Vascular access procedures
Biopsies
Drain placements
Embolization procedures
Image-guided interventions
Other minimally invasive vascular and non-vascular procedures

Key Responsibilities

Prepare procedure rooms and imaging equipment for Interventional Radiology cases
Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures
Operate fluoroscopy and imaging equipment while maintaining radiation safety standards
Position patients appropriately and ensure patient comfort throughout procedures
Maintain sterile technique and assist with procedural setup
Monitor patients during procedures and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record
Ensure compliance with radiation safety and departmental protocols
Participate in rotating on-call coverage as scheduled

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of recent Interventional Radiology experience required
Active Illinois IEMA license required
BLS certification required
Strong knowledge of vascular and image-guided procedures
Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment

Digital Imaging Equipment

Orientation

16 Hours of Orientation
Orientation is Non-Billable
Department-specific workflow and equipment training provided

Scheduling & Expectations

40 Hours Per Week
Schedule Options:
- Five 8-hour day shifts
- Four 10-hour day shifts
Final shift times to be confirmed
Rotating on-call coverage required (specific schedule to be confirmed)
Holiday coverage as needed
Floating may be required based on department needs
