Job Summary
The Restaurant & Bar Manager at Allevity Entertainment is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, bar, and kitchen. This position provides leadership to both front-of-house and back-of-house teams and is responsible for creating an efficient, high-quality, and enjoyable experience for guests and employees.
The Restaurant & Bar Manager oversees staffing, training, scheduling, food and beverage quality, inventory, cost control, safety and sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and overall guest satisfaction. This position works closely with the General Manager and other departments to ensure smooth operations, strong financial performance, and a positive, family-friendly atmosphere consistent with Allevity's standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesRestaurant, Bar & Kitchen Operations
- Oversee daily front-of-house, bar, and kitchen operations.
- Ensure the restaurant, bar, and kitchen are clean, organized, properly stocked, and prepared for service.
- Maintain efficient operations during peak periods and ensure timely, courteous service.
- Ensure food and beverages are prepared and presented consistently according to established recipes, portions, and quality standards.
- Monitor ticket times, food preparation, bar service, and overall flow between the kitchen and front-of-house.
- Ensure restaurant and kitchen equipment is functioning properly and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
- Maintain consistent standards for food quality, beverage quality, presentation, cleanliness, and guest service.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Lead and supervise restaurant employees, including bartenders, servers, hosts, cooks, dishwashers, and other restaurant staff.
- Work with the General Manager to recruit, hire, train, and onboard new employees.
- Assist the General Manager with employee scheduling, ensuring adequate staffing while effectively managing labor costs.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and feedback to employees.
- Assist with employee performance evaluations and corrective action when necessary.
- Ensure employees are properly trained in food preparation, beverage service, responsible alcohol service, food safety, sanitation, customer service, and Allevity policies.
- Delegate responsibilities during shifts and provide hands-on leadership during busy periods.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, communication, and excellent guest service.
Guest Experience
- Ensure guests receive friendly, efficient, and exceptional service throughout the restaurant and bar.
- Regularly interact with guests and monitor the dining experience.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and complaints.
- Resolve issues involving food quality, beverage quality, service, or other restaurant concerns.
- Create a welcoming, fun, and family-friendly atmosphere consistent with the Allevity brand.
- Work with the events team to ensure excellent service for birthday parties, group events, corporate functions, and private bookings.
Food & Beverage Management
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, portions, and consistency.
- Maintain knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, food offerings, and restaurant trends.
- Work with the General Manager and restaurant team to develop seasonal menus, daily specials, new food offerings, cocktails, and beverage promotions.
- Ensure menu items can be consistently executed by the restaurant team.
- Assist with accommodating dietary restrictions, allergies, and special guest requests.
- Ensure large food and beverage orders for events and groups are handled efficiently.
Inventory & Ordering
- Manage inventory of food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, restaurant supplies, bar supplies, and glassware.
- Ensure adequate inventory is available to meet anticipated demand.
- Place orders for food, beverages, ingredients, and supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain vendor relationships and work to obtain competitive pricing.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor product usage, food costs, beverage costs, waste, spoilage, and inventory loss.
- Implement inventory controls designed to reduce waste and prevent over-ordering.
Safety, Sanitation & Compliance
- Ensure food handling, preparation, storage, and service comply with applicable health and safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding the sale and service of alcohol.
- Enforce Allevity's responsible alcohol service policies, including ID verification and prevention of over-service.
- Ensure employees are trained to properly handle intoxicated guests and other alcohol-related situations.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the restaurant, bar, kitchen, and food preparation areas.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with food temperatures, sanitation procedures, allergen protocols, and other food safety requirements.
- Ensure employees follow workplace safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
Financial Management & Cost Control
- Assist the General Manager with restaurant budgeting and financial performance.
- Monitor food costs, beverage costs, labor costs, waste, and other operating expenses.
- Review sales trends and use this information to adjust staffing, ordering, and inventory levels.
- Monitor restaurant profitability and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
- Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising food quality, beverage quality, or guest experience.
- Ensure accurate cash handling, sales reporting, and tip procedures.
- Review restaurant performance reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase restaurant and bar revenue through menu development, promotions, upselling, and special events.
Collaboration & Communication
- Maintain strong communication between kitchen, bar, serving staff, and other Allevity departments.
- Work closely with the General Manager to plan for peak seasons, promotions, special events, and high-volume periods.
- Collaborate with the events team to coordinate food and beverage service for parties, corporate events, and group bookings.
- Work with marketing and the General Manager to develop restaurant promotions, seasonal features, drink specials, and other initiatives designed to increase restaurant traffic and sales.
- Coordinate with maintenance to ensure restaurant, kitchen, and bar equipment remains in good working condition.
- Serve as the primary restaurant leader on duty when appropriate and assist in other operational areas as needed.
QualificationsExperience
- 3–5 years of restaurant, bar, kitchen, hospitality, or food-service experience preferred.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant, bar, entertainment, or family-friendly environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead employees and manage restaurant operations.
- Knowledge of both front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant operations.
- Working knowledge of food, beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails is preferred.
