Full Job Description

S.E. Minor & Company is a well-established engineering, surveying, planning & permitting, and environmental firm headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut. With more than 100 years of continuous practice, we serve a sophisticated client base across residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use development throughout Fairfield County and beyond.

We are seeking a Site / Civil Engineer with two (2) or more years of experience to join our growing Greenwich office. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who has moved beyond purely entry-level work and is ready to take on greater technical responsibility, project exposure, and professional growth.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will support the design, permitting, and execution of land development projects under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers, with a clear path toward increasing independence and leadership.

This position is intentionally structured to accelerate technical development, client exposure, and responsibility faster than is typical in larger or more rigid organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Support site and civil engineering design from concept through construction
Prepare engineering plans and calculations for site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control
Assist with permit applications and coordination with local, state, and regulatory agencies
Coordinate with internal survey, planning, and environmental teams
Respond to municipal comments and assist with plan revisions
Participate in site visits, construction support, and project meetings as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or strong intent to pursue licensure
Minimum of two (2) years of site/civil engineering experience
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience with HydroCAD a plus
Exposure to residential, commercial, or mixed-use development projects
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound engineering judgment
Demonstrated reliability, initiative, and interest in long-term professional growth

Work Environment

Full-time position, Monday through Friday
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet deadlines or attend public meetings
