Leading Light Behavioral Health (LLBH) is an expanding outpatient and community behavioral health organization committed to providing evidence-based, trauma-informed behavioral healthcare throughout Massachusetts.
We are launching a comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Program that follows the treatment model developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan and complies with MBHP Performance Specifications.
We are seeking an experienced DBT clinician to provide clinical leadership and help establish a high-quality DBT program.
Position Summary
The Lead DBT Program Coordinator is responsible for clinical oversight of the DBT program while maintaining an active caseload.
This clinician serves as the program champion responsible for ensuring treatment fidelity, supporting consultation team meetings, mentoring clinicians, and promoting excellence in service delivery.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the DBT program, ensuring adherence to best practices and clinical standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, including therapists, case managers, and support staff, fostering professional growth and clinical excellence.
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to determine client needs and develop individualized treatment plans utilizing DBT principles.
- Provide direct clinical services, including individual therapy, group therapy sessions focused on skills training, family counseling, and crisis intervention as needed.
- Oversee documentation processes ensuring accurate medical records, compliance with HIPAA regulations, and proper use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Coordinate with community partners and families to facilitate integrated care plans that address co-occurring disorders such as substance use or developmental disabilities.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through de-escalation techniques, crisis management protocols, and timely intervention strategies.
- Ensure staff are trained in motivational interviewing, applied behavior analysis (ABA), trauma-informed care—including PTSD care—and other relevant therapeutic modalities.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations including ICD coding (ICD-10/DSM 5 TR), CPT coding for billing purposes, and documentation standards for medical terminology.
- Support clinical research initiatives by collecting data for program evaluation and quality improvement efforts related to mental health counseling and behavioral health outcomes.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure required (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
- Proven experience leading clinical teams within behavioral health or mental health settings; supervisory experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of DBT therapy techniques along with experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), neurodevelopmental disorders, co-occurring disorders—including substance use—and diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Strong background in crisis management, crisis intervention strategies, and working with children and families facing complex mental health conditions.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards, electronic health records (EHR/EHR management), HIPAA compliance, ICD coding (ICD-10/DSM 5 TR), CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, family collaboration, interdisciplinary team coordination, and community outreach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
