About Us

The Norwich Community Development Corporation (NCDC) and Global City Norwich (GCN) are dedicated to strengthening community connections, supporting local businesses, and celebrating Norwich’s cultural diversity.

Project PEACE (Pathways to Economic Advancement and Community Empowerment) is a state-funded program that empowers youth and adults through education, resources, and violence prevention initiatives that promote opportunity and inclusion.

About the Role

We're looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to serve as the operational hub of Global City Norwich. This position plays a key role in ensuring our programs, projects, and community initiatives are well organized, effectively administered, and consistently communicated to the community.

In this role, you'll coordinate day-to-day program operations, support Norwich residents through the intake and referral process, manage routine community communications, and build strong relationships with community partners. You'll help keep projects moving, maintain organized systems and documentation, and ensure our programs operate efficiently and effectively.

This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, enjoys utilizing and improving systems and processes, communicates effectively, and takes initiative to keep projects on track. What You’ll Do

Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of GCN programs, projects, and community initiatives.
Manage participant intake, referrals, documentation, and follow-up to help residents access programs and community resources.
Maintain organized program records, administrative processes, and reporting systems to support efficient program operations.
Manage GCN's routine community communications, including newsletters, social media, website updates, and promotional materials.
Build relationships with residents, community organizations, and partners while supporting community events and volunteer activities.
Attend community events and meetings as a representative of NCDC/GCN.

What You Bring

Experience in nonprofit administration, program coordination, community engagement, project management, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with residents, community partners, and stakeholders.
Experience using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new technology quickly.
Experience with Canva, Constant Contact, Monday.com, website content management systems, or project management software is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively, and identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.
Experience working with diverse communities; experience working with youth is a plus.
Bilingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, or other languages commonly spoken in our community) preferred.
Flexible schedule with availability for occasional evenings and weekends for community events.

Details

Schedule: 15–20 hours/week
Pay: $25–$27/hour (based on experience and language proficiency)
Employment Type: Part-time, Temporary W-2 employee
Duration: Start upon hire through December 31, 2027. This position is an at-will position, which may be terminated by the Employer or Employee at any time with or without cause.
