Full Job Description

Bookkeeper – HVAC Service Company

Position: Bookkeeper
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing HVAC company. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, excellent attention to detail, and hands-on experience with QuickBooks and ServiceTitan.

This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, assisting with payroll, and ensuring the company's day-to-day accounting functions are handled accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions
Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
Utilize ServiceTitan for financial and service-related accounting functions
Manage Accounts Payable (AP), including entering, coding, and processing vendor invoices
Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including customer payments, deposits, and account reconciliation
Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger
Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Assist with payroll processing and ensure payroll records are accurate
Monitor outstanding customer balances and assist with collections
Process vendor payments and maintain accurate vendor records
Reconcile ServiceTitan transactions with QuickBooks and bank activity
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Prepare financial reports and provide accurate bookkeeping information to management
Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation
Work closely with management, office staff, technicians, and vendors as needed
Maintain confidentiality of company financial and employee information

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Experience working with QuickBooks
Experience with ServiceTitan strongly preferred
Working knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger
Experience with payroll processing
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other home-service industry experience is a plus

Preferred Skills

QuickBooks Online/Desktop experience
ServiceTitan experience
Experience reconciling high-volume customer and vendor transactions
Experience with payroll and employee records
Experience in a service-based or HVAC company
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
