Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pipelayer to join our underground utility construction team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience installing underground utility systems, including water, sewer, and storm drain pipelines. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

Install water, sewer, and storm drain pipe according to project plans and specifications.
Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground utilities before excavation to prevent damage or accidents.
Grade trenches and prepare pipe bedding.
Align, position, and secure pipe using hand tools and heavy equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and utility plans.
Perform laser and grade checks to ensure proper pipe alignment and elevation.
Assist with trench shoring, dewatering, and excavation safety.
Inspect pipe, fittings, and materials for quality before installation.
Work closely with equipment operators, laborers, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all OSHA and company safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a Pipelayer in underground utility construction (required).
Experience installing water mains, sanitary sewer, storm drain, and related underground utilities.
Ability to read construction plans, grades, and elevations.
Knowledge of trench safety and OSHA regulations.
Experience working around heavy equipment.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. (Must be able to travel to different job locations)
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
