Senior Property Community Manager

Location: Bergen County, New Jersey

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Community Manager to lead operations at our residential communities in Bergen County, NJ. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of property performance, including financial results, resident satisfaction, team leadership, compliance, and asset preservation. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong financial acumen, operational expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional resident experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise on-site team members (leasing, maintenance, concierge, etc.)

Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development
Ensure proper staffing levels and scheduling

Leasing & Marketing

Oversee leasing strategy to achieve occupancy and revenue goals
Monitor traffic, conversion ratios, and market trends
Collaborate on marketing campaigns and outreach initiatives
Ensure competitive market positioning
Screen tenants thought disciplined background and credit checks

Financial & Asset Management

Develop and manage annual operating budgets
Monitor income, expenses, and NOI performance
Analyze monthly financial statements and implement corrective action as needed
Oversee rent collections, delinquency management, and expense control
Identify opportunities to enhance revenue and property value

Operations & Compliance

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
Oversee vendor contracts and property service agreements
Maintain property appearance and ensure high standards of curb appeal
Conduct regular property inspections
Coordinate capital improvement and renovation projects

Resident Experience

Promote a strong sense of community
Resolve escalated resident concerns professionally and efficiently
Maintain high resident satisfaction and retention levels
Oversee resident events and engagement initiatives

Qualifications

5+ years of property management experience, preferably in a mid-to-large (150+ units) residential community
Strong knowledge of NJ landlord-tenant laws and Fair Housing regulations
Proven experience managing budgets and driving financial performance
Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Proficiency in property management software (Yardi, Appfolio, RealPage)
