The Project Management Manager will lead a group of project managers that regularly coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget. Ensure alignment across Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Service, and Finance while maintaining strong customer communication and proactively managing risks throughout the project lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Customer Experience & Business Acumen
-
Develop, standardize, train, and perform professional, consistent, and industry-leading customer communication cadences to ensure the customer experience during the design/build process is remarkable
-
Effectively and proactively collaborate with other customer-facing departments (sales, customer service, leadership team) as needed to ensure alignment on major project / customer relationship-based decisions

Understand logistical requirements, objectives, and challenges related to equipment delivery and installation and proactively implement planning to mitigate issues

Work directly with sales and customer service to ensure the customer experience during the design/build process is aligned and cohesive through the life cycle of the project.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen, strategically balancing big picture / long-term success with tactical short-term success
- Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner

Act as an escalation point as required for any project to ensure issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner
Oversight of Project Planning & Execution

Execute comprehensive project plans finalizing scope, schedule, deliverables, roles & responsibilities in collaboration with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Finance & Service
- Orchestrate the successful execution of projects to meet specifications, timelines & budget targets
- Drive maintenance of accurate project schedules, timelines and status reports
- Actively monitor project progress and proactively take action to ensure alignment with planned milestones
- Drive accountability, while empowering individuals to assume greater levels of responsibility and personal contribution

Conduct milestone reviews with your project managers & other department managers to ensure project alignment and accountability
Resource & Workflow Management

Track and manage resource allocation, identifying potential constraints or overloading
- Develop consistent templates & processes for all project managers to utilize on every project to ensure consistency and accuracy of all documentation and communication

Collaborate with all teams to proactively address resource challenges
- Oversee coordination with Purchasing, Receiving, Warehouse & Production teams to align material deliveries with operational capacity
- Work closely with Service Mgmt to support implementation and project completion
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Foster strong internal relationships with other managers & individual contributors to drive efficiency and productivity
- Facilitate open communication and timely information sharing across all departments
- Identify potential conflicts and lead discussions to develop proactive, unified solutions
- Partner with Finance to manage progress billing, change orders (ECOs), and financial tracking
Risk & Financial Management

Proactively identify, assess, and communicate project risks; collaborate with stakeholders on mitigation strategies
- Monitor all project schedules and escalate potential impacts proactively to internal stakeholders

Oversee alignment with contractual scope and management of change notifications accordingly
- Oversee tracking and reporting of financial performance, including budget variances and forecast impacts
- Maintain visibility into engineering & production schedules to mitigate risks to timeline and cost
Leadership

Foster a positive culture where employees feel comfortable coming to you and your employees with concerns or feedback
- Broadcast a consistent message regardless of audience
- Collaborate with Human Resources as needed on performance management, employee development plans, talent initiatives & recruitment strategies to support organizational goals

What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or Project Mgmt and/or equivalent experience (5+ years in a mfg environment)

5+ years leading projects through a full life cycle in a custom engineering and manufacturing environment

5+ years of project mgmt customer-facing experience
-
Strong background in custom engineer to order environment, including project scheduling

Proven ability to complete projects according to scope, budget and timeline

Strong project mgmt leadership and decision-making
-
Ability to build a strong rapport with any department & personnel
- Seeks out and builds relationships outside of his/her department.

Experience supervising or managing 3+ project managers or other customer facing technical resources

Demonstrated ability of providing an excellent project mgmt experience for both internal stakeholders and customers

Excellent communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Proficient in Microsoft Suite, ERP, and CRM systems
Preferred Qualifications:

8+ years in a project mgmt manager role
- 8+ years leading projects through a full life cycle in a custom engineering and manufacturing environment

8+ years of project mgmt customer-facing experience
-
Project Mgmt Professional (PMP) certification
-
Experience supervising or managing 5+ project managers or other customer facing technical resources

Work Environment
This position is primarily based in a professional office environment but includes occasional time in the manufacturing facility or customer plant to support projects and collaborate with production teams. While in the plant, employees may be exposed to typical manufacturing conditions such as machinery operation and moderate noise levels.
