Full Job Description

Northern Manufacturing, a precision fabricator of custom sheet metal parts and assemblies, is seeking an individual to join their staff. The ideal candidate will have CNC Laser operation/programming experience, but it is not required. Previous experience within a custom fabrication environment is preferred.

Second Shift hours are 3:30pm to 1:00am for a 45-hour workweek.
Third Shift Hours: 7:30pm to 6:00am, Monday-Thursday (4-10s)
2nd/3rd shift personnel make $1.00/hr. shift premium.

Below is a list of qualifications and requirements:

Job Description:

· Set-up, program, and operate CNC flat and tube lasers to cut and fabricate parts.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and any trouble shooting required.
Monitor machine performance.
Inspect parts for inaccuracies or complications and discuss any issues with supervisor.
Responsible for handling material at workstation and loading and unloading material from the machine.
Maintain a solid understanding of different material types and thicknesses.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
Assist with other tasks throughout the shop including break out, operating a forklift, etc.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year experience as a CNC operator or a candidate with a high mechanical aptitude preferred
High School diploma or equivalent
Basic math and measurement comprehension
Ability to read and interpret blue prints
Strong trouble-shooting skills
Ability to work in an ever-changing, fast paced work environment
Strong attention to detail and high-quality standards
