Full Job Description

Come join our Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology Practice in Lafayette! This position requires a good understanding of dermatology practice and patient care. Must have the ability to communicate with patients, coworkers, supervisors, and providers is critical. Must be willing to take initiative and be a team player.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Available to work full-time immediately, M-F 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, but can vary and overtime may be necessary as approved by your manager
Reliable transportation to our Lafayette location
As part of the role, occasional travel to our Oakland office will be necessary, NO EXCEPTIONS
**Training will be conducted at both locations**
Minimum 1 year experience in a related front desk or customer service role preferred
Motivated to learn and be part of a growing medical clinic
Displays consistent professionalism.
Demonstrate flexibility due to unexpected changes in workload.
Demonstrate ability to work independently and as a team player.
Cooperates with supervisory staff and physicians.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), Modernizing Medicine Dermatology is a plus!
Ability to learn EMR systems quickly and efficiently.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Check in patients, confirm ID and insurance
Check out patients, collect co-pays, remaining balances accurately and professionally
Answer, screen, and transfer a high volume of inbound phone calls/text messages and patient inquiries with confidence and ease
Manage provider schedules (filling schedule gaps, managing provider waitlist, scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming appointments)
Verify insurance eligibility prior to appointments with accuracy
Maintain client charts in EMR (creating, preparing, data entry)
Perform opening and closing procedures of the clinic and maintaining a
Maintain cleanliness of the receptionist area and waiting room at the end of each shift, including tidying up, disinfecting surfaces, and ensuring the area is welcoming for the next day
Demonstrate a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor at all times, especially when interacting with upset or distressed patients
Utilize active listening, empathy, and de-escalation techniques to address patient concerns and resolve issues promptly and courteously
Maintain a calm and composed attitude, ensuring that all patients feel heard and respected, even during challenging interactions
