Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Line Cook Lead to join our culinary team! In this energetic role, you will oversee daily food preparation operations, ensure high standards of food quality and safety, and lead a team of line cooks to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Your expertise in culinary techniques, kitchen management, and food safety will drive the success of our kitchen. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your leadership skills while working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment dedicated to excellence in food service.

Duties

Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the kitchen line, ensuring timely and efficient meal preparation
Supervise and mentor line cooks, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment
Ensure adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards for all menu items
Oversee food safety protocols, including sanitizing procedures, proper food handling, and storage practices
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising units, poaching stations, and other culinary tools
Assist with menu planning and ingredient ordering to support high-volume production needs
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace in compliance with health regulations
Support the culinary team in preparing a variety of dishes such as grilled items, braised specialties, poached entrees, and other fine dining offerings

Skills

Extensive culinary experience with a focus on food preparation techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal assembly
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a busy kitchen environment effectively
Strong knife skills and proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment safely
Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to ensure compliance with health standards
Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food production for high-volume settings
Background in dietary department operations or dietary aide experience is a plus
Familiarity with catering services and large-scale food service operations
Excellent food handling skills combined with a thorough understanding of food industry best practices
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
