Position Title: Cook

Reports To: Food & Beverage Manager, Restaurant Manager, and Chef

Overview: We are looking for hard-working individuals who are interested in becoming Restaurant Industry Professionals. Begin or continue your culinary career by joining the Cape Leisure Hospitality Management team at the World-Famous Silver Springs State Park. Silver Springs, home of the original Glass Bottom Boat Tours, offers several unique dining experiences including: The Springside Café, Paradise Treats, The Paddletrail Grill, Vending Carts, Special Event Foodservice, and catering for the 380 seat Paradise Ballroom, Twin Oaks Mansion, and other locations in this beautiful park. If you have grill experience in a busy kitchen environment, or experience making pizza, join our team as a Cook, Prep Cook, or other Culinary Team Member, and apply your skills with a view of America's largest natural spring! Primary Responsibilities:

· Prepare/serve hot and cold food items to order, following menu/recipe specifications, in an accurate and timely manner. Work on the line in Springside Cafe, Cafe Catering Kitchen, Paddle Trail Grill Food Trailer or Paradise Treats making pizza.

· Clean kitchen, kitchen equipment and storage areas at the end of each day as required.

· Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed, including but not limited to food temperatures, proper food labeling, avoidance of food contamination, proper storage, and general cleanliness of the kitchen and storage facilities, and hygiene of food service staff.

· Maintain a good knowledge of the Park and current events in order to expedite guest inquiries.

· Other duties as required.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

· Cooking experience in a fast-paced kitchen: 1 year preferred but will train the right person. Pay based on experience and skills.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; Culinary training a plus.

· Food Handler or Manager Certification required. We will provide class for food handler certification and pay for Manager Certification class if required for your position.

· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend for an entire 8 to 10 hour shift. Tasks require consistent use of both arms and legs.

· Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and carry for short distances.

· Must be willing to tolerate working outdoors (hot or cold temperatures) and in warm interior environment.

· Must be able to visually inspect condition of facilities and equipment.

Job Duties:

Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
Follow recipes and presentation specifications
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
Restock items as needed throughout the shift
Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes

Uniform:

Employer-supplied hairnets and gloves
Employer-supplied uniform shirt, hat, aprons
Khaki or Black pants (no jeans)
Non-slip, comfortable shoes
