Full Job Description

Company Overview: OcalaBets is a brand new cardroom in beautiful Ocala, Florida. Our fully remodeled facility is located on the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company complex. The cardroom includes 35 card tables featuring traditional poker and Vegas-style card games, including Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker, and DJ Wild. Full bar service with a fast-casual menu will be available, as well as simulcast wagering on horse racing throughout the country shown on over 100 televisions. This is your opportunity to become part of our team as we kick off the cardroom in a thriving area in North Central Florida.

Responsibilities

Prepare food according to recipe specifications
Assist in planning menus
Maintain equipment functionality and cleanliness, including but not limited to refrigerator, walk-in, cookware, prep table, etc.
Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, gathering supplies, and preparing sauces)
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the culinary staff
Answer, report and follow the Food & Beverage Director's instructions
Work with the Food & Beverage Director to develop processes and procedures to accomplish set goals for the food truck
Help and direct the completion of daily cleaning of the kitchen and all areas pertaining to the kitchen
Complete opening checklist and closing checklist when working
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure customer dining experience, and ensure food comes out consistent, timely and fresh
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Perform other duties as needed or assigned

Skills

Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with the industry’s best practices
Well-versed in food safety standards
Superior verbal communication skills are required.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
Must be customer-service, people, and detail-oriented.
Able to complete complex food service tasks with minimal direction.
Positive attitude and adaptability required.'
Certified ServSafe Food Handler

Working Conditions:

The role involves standing for extended periods, as well as handling hot and cold environments in the kitchen. It also requires lifting heavy kitchen equipment and ingredients.
