Full Job Description

Overview

The Ministry Assistant is to oversee all clerical duties associated with the operation of Oak Griner Baptist Church. Employees will exhibit proper conduct as a Church employee at all times. Employees must show enthusiastic support for the Church ministry.

Duties

Manage front desk responsibilities, greeting visitors and congregation members with professionalism and warmth
Operate phone systems, handle inquiries, and direct calls efficiently using proper phone etiquette
Maintain accurate data entry records, update databases, and manage filing systems with precision and confidentiality
Office management tasks including calendar management, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings and supporting Pastoral staff, Treasurer and Committee Chairs as needed.
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace tools, and QuickBooks for bookkeeping, document creation, and record keeping
Handle clerical duties such as proofreading documents, preparing correspondence, and managing incoming/outgoing mail and email.
Prepare, proof and print weekly bulletins.
Notify Pastoral staff of member hospitalizations , deaths, etc.

Qualifications

Must be a born again Christian, actively involved in a local church, and in full agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message(2000).
Must practice discretion and be able to keep confidentiality in dealing with personal information.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Google Suite, Quickbooks, Canva and willing to learn new computer programs as needed.
Strong organizational skills.
Display the ability to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse community members effectively
Protect the reputation of others by handling confidential information with discretion and integrity.
Should be a self starter, with the ability to work independently without supervision.
Ability to climb stairs and occasionally lift boxes.

Pay: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour
