Overview

Line Cook / Prep Cook is/are responsible for preparing ingredients and supporting the kitchen team to ensure efficient and consistent food production. This role focuses on chopping, portioning, and organizing food items while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked kitchen. In this vibrant role, you will be instrumental in preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen operations, and ensuring smooth food service in a fast-paced environment. Your culinary expertise and leadership skills will help create memorable dining experiences for our guests while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and kitchen management. These paid positions offers an exciting opportunity to grow your culinary career within a lively hospitality setting.

Responsibilities

Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and timely service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, equipment, and storage
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
Set up and stock assigned station with necessary supplies and ingredients
Ensure all food is cooked and plated correctly and in a timely manner
Communicate effectively with kitchen team and expeditor during service
Monitor food quality and report any shortages or issues to kitchen leadership
Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, and stocking
Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with health codes
Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties
Properly store food and label items according to health regulations
Prepare and cook menu items with precision, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
Supervise and support kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and maintaining a positive work environment as needed
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling procedures at all times
Support menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or specials to enhance guest satisfaction

Skills

Ability to follow recipes and instructions carefully
Strong attention to detail and organization
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to stand for long periods
Lifting up to 40–50 lbs
Nights, weekends, and holiday availability required
Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required
Demonstrated supervisory or team management experience within a kitchen setting
Knowledge of food safety standards and dietary department procedures
