EMG / NCS Clinical Specialist & Program Coordinator

Location: Mississippi Gulf Coast

Position Type: Full-Time | Administrative & Clinical

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a motivated Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) or Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Study (EMG/NCS) Technician to lead and manage their high-volume in-office EMG program.

The practice performs targeted EMG/NCS diagnostic testing in-office to support orthopaedic evaluations, but does not provide broader neurodiagnostic testing or ongoing general neurology care. Because certified EMG/NCS technicians are extremely rare, our client is fully prepared to provide comprehensive on-the-job clinical training and fully fund certification for a candidate with strong clinical fundamentals, high attention to detail, and leadership aptitude.

This hybrid role combines specialized diagnostic patient care with operational management, requiring someone who can deliver an exceptional patient experience while taking full ownership of program scheduling, workflow, and administrative oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Patient Care

Perform or assist in conducting Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) in accordance with practice protocols and physician guidance.
Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, explain testing processes clearly to ease anxiety, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout.
Accurately gather clinical histories, document diagnostic findings, and process test data for physician review and interpretation.
Maintain strict standards of clinical compliance, infection control, and patient privacy (HIPAA).

Program Coordination & Operations

Take end-to-end operational ownership of the in-office EMG diagnostic program.
Oversee patient scheduling, pre-authorizations/precertifications, and workflow optimization to maximize clinic efficiency.
Manage diagnostic equipment maintenance, supplies inventory, and calibration schedules.
Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for provider referrals, patient inquiries, and clinical follow-ups regarding EMG testing.

Qualifications & Requirements

Clinical Background:
Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant), Registered Nurse (RN), or experienced Neurodiagnostic / EMG Technician.
Direct experience in EMG/NCS testing or a certified Registered Nerve Conduction Technologist (R.NCS.T.) credential is highly desirable, but not required.
Education & Credentials: Active Mississippi clinical license/credential appropriate to your discipline (e.g., APRN, PA-C, RN) or relevant technical certification.
Core Skills:
Trainability: Strong aptitude for learning complex diagnostic clinical procedures and specialized medical technology.
Program Ownership: Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage scheduling, administrative duties, and program logistics independently.
Interpersonal Skills: Warm, professional patient-facing demeanor with an ability to put patients at ease during diagnostic procedures.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and diagnostic equipment interfaces.
