Job Description
We are actively seeking an Occupational Therapist (MOT or OTD) to come work with our growing team at Ability innovations
Registered Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OTR/MOT/OTD)
Our Occupational Therapists are an integral part of the team at Children in Motion, LLC. The OTR is responsible for the following:
- Evaluates new clients through family centered evaluation approaches. Completing any appropriate assessments needed to determine a child’s developmental skills.
- Conducts Parent Follow-Up meetings for all evaluations, one week after completion of the initial evaluation. The OTR provides essential education and training for parents during this meeting to ensure parent understanding of the plan of care and intervention approach.
- Develops a plan of care, including writing of functional and occupation-based goals, which guide the intervention process and ultimately leads to successful discharge of the client.
- Implements the plan of care using effective treatment intervention techniques and evidence-based intervention for all assigned clients and families.
- Provides home programming, sensory diets, and parent education as part of every therapy session, to promote consistent follow through and progress toward functional goals at home.
- Provides occupational therapy services that are family centered and client centered, engaging family, guardians, and parents in treatment sessions.
- Clearly communicates with patient, families, referring physicians, and other members of the child's health care team.
- Completes accurate and ethical documentation in a timely manner, meeting insurance and ethical standards of practice as required for insurance billing, certification, and regulatory requirements. Completes progress notes and re-evaluations within appropriate period of time, as dictated by the client’s insurance company and ethical standards.
- Prepares and submits accurate and ethical charges for completed therapy sessions, evaluations, and re-evaluations.
- Engages in regular mentorship meetings with an occupational therapy mentor to gain and expand knowledge and skills.
- Adheres to treatment schedule set forth during onboarding process by arriving on time daily to set up and prepare for the day ahead.
- Uses professional judgment to always ensure safety of clients and their families.
- Attends required meetings as designated and agreed upon with employer.
- Provides supervision to OT and OTA Students as assigned and provides a professional example of pediatric occupational therapy for shadowing students and fieldwork students.
- Provides supervision of COTAs and Therapy Aides, as assigned and agreed upon with supervisor.
- Attends in-services, training sessions or other educational presentations as requested.
- Maintains valid licensure, certification or equivalent as required by appropriate state agency.
- Completes additional requirements as assigned and agreed upon by supervising occupational therapist.
- Continuously strives to improve occupational therapy skills, knowledge, and demonstrates intrinsic motivation for growth as an occupational therapist.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy curriculum with a Master of Occupational Therapy and/or Doctor of Occupational Therapy Degree.
- In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
- Ability to pass a state and federal back-ground check.
- Ability to provide ethical and evidence-based pediatric interventions in a professional manner.

- Strong communication skills for interactions with co-workers, supervisors, students, clients, and families.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
- CPR certification (Preferred)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to sit and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, squat, push, stoop, and pull as needed especially in fulfilling patient care activities.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. for set up of gym equipment and for client safety.
- This job requires lifting of clients at times and requires therapists to be able to spend time seated on the floor or squatting down frequently.
- Stamina to engage in 6 therapy sessions per 8-hour day with small children to teens.
JOB TYPE: Part Time and/or Full-Time position (20 to 40 hours per week)

- Full Time is scheduled for 4, 10 hour days - Therapist and supervisor will design schedule .
- After-school availability is required as late as 7pm on working days.
- No Weekends & No Holidays Required

- Current Utah Occupational Therapy License (Required)
- Current NBCOT Certification (Required)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- Current AOTA and UOTA Membership (Preferred)

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
