Full Job Description

Job Title: Quality Manager

Location: 11012 Aurora-Hudson Road, Streetsboro, OH 44241

Shift: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, travel required <20%

Reports To: General Manager

The Quality Manager will develop, implement, and periodically evaluate processes to ensure the organization’s production operations, from raw materials to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization. This position is also responsible for leading and developing the quality management system, processes, and teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

Quality Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with the company's objectives, ensuring it integrates with all aspects of the organization.
Quality Management System (QMS): Maintain an effective QMS, including policies, procedures, and processes, to ensure product and service quality throughout the organization.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop other quality professionals on staff, ensuring a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and up to date.
Quality Assurance: Oversee the development and implementation of quality control measures, including audits, inspections, and testing protocols, to monitor and maintain product and service quality.
Quality Metrics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and report on quality performance, enabling data-driven decision-making.
Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency.
Supplier Quality: Collaborate with the procurement and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are met by suppliers and vendors.
Customer Feedback: Establish mechanisms to capture and act on customer feedback, striving to enhance customer satisfaction.
Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into quality issues, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
Audit and Certification: Prepare for and participate in quality audits, ensuring successful certifications and compliance.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of quality management standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of developing high-performing quality teams.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with cross-functional teams, customers/suppliers, and external auditors.
Project management and process improvement skills, with a proven ability to drive change and deliver results.
Ability to read, interpret, and tolerance blueprints and engineering drawings.
Ability to travel to supplier sites when needed.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office products.
Ability to interact effectively with all departments and levels of the organization with a strong focus in a team-based work environment.
Time-management skills for meeting deadlines.

Experience / Education:

Bachelor's degree in Quality Management or Engineering.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Experience in the Combustion industry a plus.
Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt) would be a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hand to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders and stairs, stoop, balance, bend, and kneel. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 25 lbs.
