Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II or higher to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health and addiction counseling services to individuals and families, fostering recovery and resilience. Your expertise will support clients through assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions, ensuring they receive compassionate, evidence-based care in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and community-based programs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on lives while working within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Duties

Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and HIPAA-compliant documentation practices
Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and group therapy
Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions addressing mental health issues, substance use disorders, PTSD, and crisis management situations
Implement crisis intervention strategies to stabilize clients experiencing acute behavioral health crises or trauma-related episodes
Maintain accurate medical records, intake documentation, case management notes, and progress reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Utilize research and data collection methods to monitor treatment outcomes and improve clinical practices
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including hospital staff, social workers, and community providers

Qualifications

Valid licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II or higher (LCDC II or above) with current certification in good standing
Proven experience in behavioral health settings with expertise in addiction counseling, mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and case management
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical records management
Demonstrated skills in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and trauma-informed care
Experience working with diverse populations in home & community care environments as well as hospital settings preferred
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while maintaining client confidentiality per HIPAA standards
Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration
