Full Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

In accordance with the organization’s Mission and Objectives, it is responsible for building positive relationships with COMTEX Customers, Vendors and Ohio Community. The COMTEX Customer Relations Specialist must respond promptly and resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively. This person will work closely with Shipping, Transportation and Production Departments as well as other COMTEX Customer Relations Specialist and members of the Management Team. This position will require a working knowledge of COMTEX operations, industry standards and linen distribution processes. COMTEX Customer Relations Specialist must be able to travel to customer sites on a consistent basis to; conduct linen awareness, perform audits and build and trust understanding with each customer. This person will be both a customer relations specialist and a resource for customers that promotes growth, positive perception and recognition of COMTEX.

The Customer Relations Specialist’s responsibilities include:

1. Textiles

Coordinates the bi-annual textile tender and selection process with Customer Committee.

Tests new linen in COMTEX laboratory.

Develops initial inventories and quotas for each customer and clinic.

In coordination with Production, maintain linen replacement levels within established budget levels and establish and maintain linen deliveries and inventory levels.

2. Business Development

Promotes COMTEX and its services to potential new healthcare customers both indirectly or directly with sales calls, marketing, convention attendance and other professional promotion events.

3. Customer Services

Establishes and monitors inventory levels at customer sites and adjusts as necessary.

Addresses and resolves quality, delivery and service issues. This position will be available for 24/7 cell phone coverage.

Develops a positive relationship with hospitals and clinics and initiates and monitors COMTEX quality assurance survey.

Develops, analyzes and reports back to hospital statistical data such as pounds per adjusted patient day.

Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel at hospitals and customers.

Works with production staff in cooperation with Director of Plant Operations to maintain quality and cost.

Conducts Quality Audits of customer orders prior to delivery.

Develop strategies for new business or services.

Investigates and solves customer concerns regarding quality or service.

Establishes and maintains good hospital relations.

Stay current on the latest customer service techniques, products and services in the healthcare field.

Oversee the preparation of hospital inventories and ensure that inventory reports are available for the hospitals.

Trains customer staff on use of ControlTex and order adjustments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Participates in the development, and implementation of company objectives.

Notifies Hospitals of service problems and delivery delays.

Assists in the development of operating and capital budgets,

Forecasts volumes and communicates with COMTEX Management Team.

Observes linen levels and shipping functions daily.

Assists Chief Executive Officer and Director of Plant Operations in monitoring inventory levels at customer sites and COMTEX production plant.

Develops, coordinates and monitors safety protocols for COMTEX.

Promotes a learning and developmental climate.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

Ability to understand and discuss laundry operations with customers.

Ability to deal with problems and difficult situations with a calm common-sense approach

Significant in-depth working experience in laundry health care production planning and operations.

Knowledge of and proficiency in selecting laundry textiles and distribution systems. Ability is required to understand washers and dryers, material handling systems, ironers, feeders, folders, and stackers.

Experience in marketing and promotion of new business, and in developing a culture of personal and corporate growth.

Ability to communicate effectively with Customers, as well as all levels of management and to develop a positive working relationship with Customers to resolve issues in a timely manner.

The ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally is required; and to think and act strategically, in such a way as to participate in, support and contribute to the efforts of the Senior Management Team.
