Full Job Description

Latham, Nelson, Adame & Duffy is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our existing top-notch team as a legal assistant or paralegal. No prior experience or education level is required but preferred; however, all applicants must have excellent communication skills, both orally and writing. The ideal applicant must be able to demonstrate attention to detail and after initial training, will be able to exhibit a strong degree of independence in managing ongoing cases. All applicants must be technologically proficient, especially on platforms such as Dropbox, Zoom, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe. In this role, you will assist the managing attorney with all aspects of case file management. Bilingual (Spanish) is helpful.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Oversee the attorneys schedule, and ensure their day is organized and deadlines are met.
Assist attorney during trials by organizing exhibits, taking notes, and working as a team with other office personnel.
️Maintaining and organizing both hard copy and electronic files.
Handling communications with clients via phone, emails, etc.
Assist with scheduling and organizing appointments through case management software.
️Documenting deadlines and maintaining trial calendars
Drafting legal documents for civil cases, including personal injury and insurance defense.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS INCLUDE:

Attention to detail is a MUST.

Proficient computer skills; Email, Microsoft Word, Dropbox, Microsoft Excel, Zoom, and Adobe, etc.

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in English and grammar.

Secretarial and organizational skills; (ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure)

Ethical and confidentiality responsibility.

Bilingual (Spanish) will be helpful

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
