Full Job Description

Capers & Company is a boutique catering and events company serving the Oklahoma City metro from our catering kitchen in West Edmond. We do plated weddings, signature receptions, charcuterie, celebration cakes, and drop-and-go catering.

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Executive Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in catering and a strong background in kitchen management. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, creating innovative menus, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. This role requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and design creative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Managing a team of prep cooks.
Oversee catering kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste to maintain cost-effectiveness.
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork.
Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
Monitor food preparation processes to guarantee quality, presentation, and taste meet established standards.
Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Chef
Strong knowledge of food service management principles and practices.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen environment.
Experience working within a dietary department is a plus but not required.
Exceptional culinary skills with creativity in menu development and presentation.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
