Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Cardiac Monitor Technician / Monitor Technician to join our team for a 36-hour night shift schedule. This vital role involves continuous monitoring of cardiac patients, analyzing cardiac rhythms, and ensuring prompt response to any abnormalities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, comprehensive knowledge of cardiovascular diagnostics, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment, ensuring accurate detection of arrhythmias and other cardiac events.
Observe vital signs and assess patient status continuously, documenting findings in accordance with hospital protocols.
Operate medical equipment related to cardiac diagnostics, including picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) for imaging review.
Respond promptly to alarms and notify appropriate clinical staff of significant changes or emergencies.
Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards during patient interactions.
Support diagnostic evaluations such as echocardiography, cardiac stress tests, and vascular ultrasound imaging when required.
Collaborate with cardiology teams during interventional procedures like cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology cases.
Document all observations accurately within electronic health records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in telemetry monitoring, cath lab procedures, or interventional cardiology settings; Level I or Level II trauma center experience is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of cardiac physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to cardiovascular technology.
Familiarity with cardiac rhythm analysis and diagnostic evaluation techniques including echocardiography and stress testing.
Proficiency in operating medical equipment such as PACS systems, vascular ultrasound devices, and other diagnostic tools.
Excellent understanding of aseptic techniques, vital signs assessment, and emergency response protocols in critical care environments.
Prior experience working within emergency medicine or trauma centers enhances readiness for this role.
Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high attention to detail and patient safety standards.
